Volunteer

Make a Direct Impact on Student Learning

Volunteers are the heart of our school community! Whether you can help in classrooms, support special events, or share your professional expertise, there are volunteer opportunities that match your schedule and interests.

Ways to Volunteer:

  • Classroom Support: Reading with students, helping with projects, field trip supervision
  • Office Assistance: Data entry, copying materials, answering phones
  • Special Events: School festivals, book fairs, fundraising events, graduation ceremonies
  • Expertise Sharing: Career presentations, tutoring, mentoring programs
  • Maintenance & Beautification: Campus clean-up days, garden maintenance, minor repairs

Getting Started: All volunteers must complete our clearance process, which includes background checks and orientation. We'll help you through every step to ensure you're prepared and comfortable in your volunteer role.

School Garden

alt-text

Run collaboratively by community volunteers and teachers, the Bret Harte School Garden program provides standards-based enrichment for students and helps connect ideas taught in the classroom to our natural world.

We are always seeking new volunteers to join our Garden Council, or just join us at one of our monthly garden work days.  Visit our calendar or call the school for more information.
